Crispy Air Fryer Halloumi Bites Recipe

Ingredients

- 1 lb (453 g) halloumi cheese block, cut into 1- to 1 1/2–inch cubes (see notes)
- 1 c. à soupe (15 ml) neutral oil such as vegetable or canola oil
- Honey or hot honey, for serving (optional)
Method
- 1.Pat halloumi cubes dry with paper towels. In a medium bowl, toss halloumi cubes with oil until evenly coated.
- 2.Arrange halloumi cubes in an air fryer basket in a single layer with space between each cube. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you might need to cook in batches (don't crowd the pieces, or the sides won't brown well).
- 3.Cook the halloumi in an air fryer heated to 400°F (204°C) until golden brown, flipping the pieces with tongs halfway through cooking, 14 to 20 minutes total.
- 4.Use tongs to transfer halloumi to a serving platter. Drizzle with honey, if using, or add to a salad. Serve immediately (halloumi will firm up again and become more squeaky upon cooling).
