About the site
Les recettes de Lili was born from a simple observation: when you're allergic or intolerant, finding a recipe that works for you often feels like an uphill battle.
Our mission
Most cooking sites offer either "classic" recipes packed with allergens, or "free-from" recipes that live in a world of their own. We wanted to reconcile the two: to let everyone keep the recipes they love, adapting only what causes a problem.
In practice, we gather thousands of recipes from around the world and analyse them to pinpoint exactly where the allergens hide: milk in a béchamel, egg in a mayonnaise, gluten in a dough. For each of these points, we suggest a concrete, tested substitution when one exists.
The "brick by brick" approach
This is our signature. A recipe isn't a monolithic block: it's an assembly of components. A floating island, for instance, is whipped egg whites plus a custard. If you're allergic to milk, there's no need to give up the whole dessert: you simply replace the brick "custard" with its milk-free version.
By breaking each recipe down this way, we turn a constraint ("I can't eat that") into a simple adaptation ("I'll swap that one element"). It's more respectful of the original recipe, and far more motivating in the kitchen.
The allergens we track
We flag the main allergens subject to mandatory declaration: milk, egg, gluten, tree nuts, peanut, soy, fish, crustaceans, molluscs, sesame, mustard, celery, sulphites, lupin. For each recipe, this information is shown as clear badges, alongside the compatible diets (vegetarian, vegan, and others depending on the ingredients).
Information, not medical advice
The allergen and diet indications are provided for information only. They never replace reading the labels or the advice of a healthcare professional. If you have a severe allergy, always check every ingredient and its origin. Our goal is to save you time and give you ideas — the final responsibility for what ends up on your plate is yours.
Where the recipes come from
Part of our catalogue comes from third-party sources, always presented with a link to the original recipe in order to credit its authors. The allergen analyses, the substitution suggestions and the site's editorial content, however, are produced by Les recettes de Lili. Any author wishing to have a recipe removed can contact us.
