Ingredients
For 4 servings
- 400 ml 400 ml Hot water
- 150 g 150 g Squash seeds
- 100 g 100 g Sunflower seed
- 75 g 75 g Sesame seeds
- 50 g 50 g Chia seed(s)
- 45 g 45 g Ground flax seeds
- Salt
Method
- 1.Preheating
- 2.Turn on your oven and set the temperature to 160°C. Meanwhile, prepare all the necessary equipment and carpet a baking sheet with sulphurized paper. This step ensures that the oven reaches the right temperature when baking the preparation, thus ensuring a uniform cooking of crackers.
- 3.Preparation of the seed mixture
- 4.Pour all the dried seeds, chia and ground flax and salt into a large salad bowl. Mix carefully with a wooden spoon to ensure a homogeneous distribution of the different seeds and obtain a perfectly seasoned base for your home crackers.
- 5.Hydration and activation of binders
- 6.Pour boiling water on the seed mixture into the salad bowl. Shake vigorously to activate the gelling power of chia and flax. Make sure the water is well absorbed, giving a sticky and homogeneous consistency to the mixture to facilitate spreading.
- 7.Forming on the plate
- 8.Spread the moistened mixture as thinly and evenly as possible on the prepared plate. Use a spatula or the back of a spoon to form a regular layer, allowing for even cooking and crispy crackers all over the surface.
- 9.Cooking
- 10.Place the plate in the hot oven for about 60 minutes of cooking. Watch carefully at the end of cooking: the preparation must be golden and crisp. If necessary, leave a few more minutes, but watch to avoid over-cooking or burning.
- 11.Cooling and breaking crackers
- 12.Remove the plate from the oven and let it cool completely at room temperature. Once cooled, break the large plate by hand to get rustic crackers. Gently do not break them up too much and keep in a sealed box.
