Traditional Béchamel Sauce

Ingredients

- 0.5 l ½ l milk
- 30 g 30 g butter
- 30 g 30 g flour
- Salt or fine salt
- Pepper
Method
- 1.Melt the butter over low heat. Add the flour, stir, and cook for a few minutes to make what is called a roux. The mixture should form a honeycomb-like texture.
- 2.Add the milk while whisking. Season with salt and pepper, then let thicken, stirring very often. As soon as it starts to bubble, stir constantly for at least 40 seconds.
- 3.Pour into a bowl and cover the surface with plastic wrap until use.
